Experience: I've been a practicing lawyer for a decade in a common-law jurisdiction. I graduated from a prominent and internationally recognized law school, and also enjoy adding realistic (to a degree) law into my fanworks. Part of my degree included a course in the law of armed conflict, and while that is not my practice area, I've done a fair amount of reading on terrorism and counterterrorism, radicalisation, and other political movements out of interest.

Other notes about labor offered: I'm willing to brainstorm and beta a fic for you which involves law in some capacity. This might mean a character that is a lawyer; this might be casefic for a police procedural, or this might be a full on trial scene in court that you want to make realistic. My specific expertise is in common law, but I can take a stab at civil law as well. If you throw in war, that works well with me too!

My own works might provide a guide for what I can do, particularly the Legal Worldbuilding Guide and any fics that are titled like a legal decision.

In terms of general betaing, I'm particularly strong on worldbuilding and character development, and I'm sharp on grammar. Notes: I'm happy to brainstorm an idea, and if you'd like, I'm also happy to show snippets/chapters of wip.
In general I'd describe my worldbuilding as book/movie fusion (Love the visuals, disagree with a lot of the characterisation for some characters, particularly in the Hobbit trilogy - specifically Thranduil & Mirkwood overall). I'm a sucker for worldbuilding and cultural exploration.

I prefer to write in third person, past or present, am fine with single POV character or multiple POV, or distanced narrators. I don't write second person anymore. I'm happy to work with OCs and adore visual prompts/faceclaims as a start-off point.

Especially interested in: I have mostly written the "big" pairing in each fandom (Joe x Nicky, Harringrove, Alex x Henry) but am open to writing different pairing (depending on the pairing in question). This includes writing femslash or het pairings. Mostly I write AUs or canon divergence fics and I am happy to do more of that, but I have also written canon fics in most of the fandoms I'm offering. Some tropes I especially enjoy include secret relationships, modern AUs, there was only one bed. I write a lot of explicit fic and am very open to that, and to making it kinky, although I have some hard limits on that front (see below)

Unwilling to address: For Stranger Things, I am not comfortable writing Will/Mike, nor am I comfortable writing any pairings involving "the bad guys" or the monsters. For The Old Guard, I am not comfortable writing Joe/Nicky/Booker or any pairings involving Keane or Merrick. In general I will not write noncon or dubcon, CNC, major character death, extreme violence or gore, underage with age difference (I'm fine with writing Stranger Things fic where both characters in the ship are 16 for example, I am not fine with writing a fic where one character is 16 and the other is mid-twenties), student/teacher romances, really anything that fetishizes an age difference. I will also not write anything that as a trope/idea fetishizes a character of color, such as master/slave roleplay where one character is a character of color.
